The assessment
Let me give you the lowdown on our certification journey – it was quite the ride!
Picture this: B Lab is the non-profit network transforming the global economy to benefit all people, communities, and the planet. B Lab runs the B Corp certification. They’re like inspectors, making sure businesses are genuinely doing good for everyone—not just the top brass.
In our assessment, B Lab examined every part of our business:
They ensure top-notch customer satisfaction with our products. After all, it's important B Corp bedding is better than the unsustainable equivalent, and not a compromise!
They ensure we’re caring for our customers, our team, our community, and the planet.
In fact, we answered over 200 detailed questions across five key areas, each of which is carefully scored.
The 5 "Pillars" of B Corp
Customers: When it comes to our customers, we don't mess around. We offer comfy lightweight duvets and pillows that will make your life better. We know life is heavy enough. Our customer care makes sure every single person feels seen, heard, and valued. It's important EVERYONE gets a fair shake. In fact, we're on it like a warm duvet on a chilly night.
But we're just getting started.
Governance: Run with transparency and accountability, with DUVET HOG there are NO shortcuts, NO excuses. It's all about putting people and the planet before profits. Pretty cool, right? Then there's how we treat those we work with – fair wages, good vibes, the whole package.
Community: Now, let's talk community. Yes, we're a company; but we're also a force for good in the localities we call home. We support local businesses. Stick with them through the highs and lows. Champion diversity. Give back through charitable donations. We love making waves, making a positive impact wherever we go.

Alright, let’s get real. DUVET HOG didn’t get points in the “Workers” pillar—because technically, we’ve only got one official employee (shout out to Phillippa Barraclough). But don’t let that fool you! Here’s the deal:
DUVET HOG is more than just Phillippa. It’s a tight-knit team of freelancers–graphic designer, digital marketing, fulfilment and more – who are treated like the rockstars they are. We’re not just talking pay-checks—though we make sure those are on point. We’re talking about creating an environment where everyone’s voice counts, where morale isn’t just boosted, it’s through the roof.
So, while we might not have a corporate office full of workers, we’ve got something even better—a crew of talented individuals who know they’re valued.
Environment: We’re obsessed with reducing our environmental footprint. No half-measures here.
... and the scores?
Now, here's the juicy part: the total DUVET HOG B Corp Impact Score (published online via the B Corp website).
While the average UK business out there will scrape by with a score of 50.9 after a B Lab Impact Assessment (which isn't good enough to qualify. As a company must achieve 80 points or more to certify).
DUVET HOG managed to knock it out of the park with an awesome score of 86.9 on a first assessment! But hey, we're not stopping there. This is the beginning of our quest to make the world a better place, one snuggly duvet at a time.

We've already made some big moves, like saving tonnes of used plastic from being wasted, and keeping our feathered friends happy. But we're not stopping there. We're on a mission to promote diversity, inclusion, and all-around goodness.

Being B Corp certified means we’re part of a badass collective of companies that are rewriting the rules of business. DUVET HOG was born out of a frustration with the status quo. We wanted to do business differently, and B Corp Certification is a big part of that mission. We know we can’t rest on our laurels. We’ve got to keep evolving. Keep pushing boundaries. Keep challenging the industry to do better. Whether that’s by cutting out animal cruelty, slashing carbon emissions, or saying goodbye to harmful chemicals and unnecessary plastic packaging.
And guess what?
Together, we’ve already stopped over 8 million plastic bottles from trashing our planet. But that’s the tip of the iceberg. We’re here to make a real difference, and that includes more than the environment alone.
Giving Back: doggy duvets
DUVET HOG has teamed up with a dog charity to repurpose unwanted duvets into doggy duvets. These get sold at dog shows, and every penny raised goes straight to dog rescue and welfare. It’s our way of making sure nothing goes to waste—and everything goes to a good cause.
